ICDL for Education
Both the ICDL Start (4 Module) and ICDL Core (7 Module) certification programmes are ideal for developing ICT skills within schools. In teacher training – both pre- and in-service, the benefits of having a minimum level of digital literacy allows all teachers to enhance the learning outcomes by becoming confident users of digital resources.
As students progress through school life, those with strong ICT skills will enjoy an enriched learning experience and will be better prepared for life, work, and further education. Similarly, teachers responsible for preparing these high-school students also require sufficient levels of digital competency: Click here to view how some schools are using ICDL to raise ICT standards.
The ICDL Core certification is mapped against the national Certificate 1 in IT.
The ICDL Start certification is used in Departments of Education worldwide to deliver a minimum entitlement of digital literacy for all teachers.
