Student Learning
Students that are digitally literate will enjoy an enriched learning experience and will be better prepared for life, for work, and further education. Students who use technology as part of the learning process generally perform better in school, and are more motivated to learn. The ICDL Core certification is also mapped against the national Certificate 1 in IT. This allows VET in School programmes to obtain accreditation and support from their local RTO/TAFE and obtain dual-recognition of both qualifications for their students.
Communication
Learning to work together and in groups is an important life skill, technology is a vital component of the communication and collaboration process. By further developing an extensive set of digital skills, students learn how to use technology to communicate with teachers and their peers to share tasks and work on group assignments and projects.
Student Skills
ICT skills enable students to present written work in an appropriate manner using word processing, and presentation slides to showcase projects, while spreadsheets are increasingly useful in a number of subjects.
The right skills also facilitate access to information and resources, enabling students to access a more diverse pool of information, including e-learning and multimedia content. ICT applications are proven to fosters critical thinking, and promote a positive attitude to further educational development.

Learning ICT provides students not only with the skills needed to support their education, it also gives them knowledge they need for success in the workforce, socially and environmentally.
